Media Release - 19 October 2022

The Canberra cyber industry takes another step forward in positioning the ACT as Australia’s cyber capital.

On Monday 24 October, nine emerging cyber companies will showcase exciting and innovative cyber security products to a board of investors as they complete the 2022 Cyber Business Accelerator program at Two24 Conferencing, Canberra City.

Presented by the Canberra Cyber Hub, the Cyber Business Accelerator Showcase and Networking Event will be opened by Chief Minister Andrew Barr and concludes the second cohort of the 2022 Cyber Business Accelerator program.

First delivered in 2021, the Canberra Cyber Business Accelerator program offers local cyber start-ups an opportunity to learn and collaborate with industry mentors and provides valuable guidance to scale up their cyber security products and services.

Funded by the Canberra Cyber Hub and delivered by the Canberra Innovation Network, the program is delivered over an eight-week period and assists cyber security start-ups to establish a market need, fine-tune their value proposition, develop their product and service offering with the guidance of industry experts, and compose a business model and pitch that they will then present at the showcase event.

Chief Minister Andrew Barr says “Canberra continues to have a thriving, innovative cyber security ecosystem. After the success of the 2021 Cyber Business Accelerator program, I’m excited to see what products and solutions the 2022 cohort presents as we take another step forward in solidifying Canberra’s lead in cyber security innovation. I’d like to congratulate the Canberra Cyber Hub on their efforts in bringing this event together.”

The Cyber Business Accelerator Showcase and Networking Event presents an important opportunity to connect with a wide range of industry leaders, businesspeople, investors, and organisations engaging in the cyber security industry.
