Our Purpose
The purpose of the Canberra Cyber Hub is to drive jobs growth in Cyber Security. We do this by:
- Creating an environment in Canberra in which cyber security businesses have the best opportunity to thrive;
- Maximising opportunities for meaningful engagement between cyber businesses and potential customers;
- Driving growth of skilled workforce;
- Generating increased student demand for education and training programs;
- Facilitating high-quality collaborative research by maximising opportunities for engagement among providers and consumers of research; and
- Amplifying the external communications of Canberra’s cyber ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Chair one working group related to one of the Canberra Cyber Hub’s three focus areas: Skilled Workforce; Accelerating SMEs or Research Engagement.
- In collaboration with other Directors, formulate the organisation’s strategic direction and monitor progress of implementation.
- Be an active participant in the Hub’s engagement with the Canberra cyber ecosystem, the public, government and other external sources.
- Be an active contributor with a genuine interest in the organisation and its purpose, including: Identification of opportunities using networks and federal government programs; attendance at events.
- Effective governance of the organisation as a Company Director. In addition, attendance at approximately 6 Board meetings per year, 6 Steering Committees and 6 working group meetings per year.
Experience/Knowledge Required
- Industry Knowledge: Cyber-security experience and/or understanding of current environment.
- Significant senior executive leadership experience.
- Personal network (relevant connections for the ecosystem) and awareness of potential conflicts of interest (real or perceived).
Selection Criteria
- The experience, knowledge and capability to meet the key responsibilities of the position.
- A track record of working in organisations at a senior level in a manner consistent with the behavioural competencies for the position.
