The CSCRC develops cyber security capability and capacity to help keep Australia safe. We do this by developing innovative, real-world research and cultivating outstanding talent to solve pressing cyber security challenges.
We build effective collaborations between industry, government and researchers, creating real-world solutions for pressing cyber-related problems.
We achieve this by identifying, funding and supporting research projects that build Australia’s cyber security capacity and address issues across the cyber spectrum, both technology and policy related.
Cyber Security Expertise and Capability
The CSCRC is dedicated to fostering the next generation of Australian cyber security talent, developing innovative projects to strengthen our nation’s security capabilities.
Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs) are collaborations between industry, government and academia. They offer a unique opportunity for Participants to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications, creating material solutions for sector-specific problems. CRCs drive innovations and help build Australia’s capability and capacity for the future.
The CSCRC also undertakes a key public role in cyber security advocacy, providing evidence-based commentary around relevant cyber security issues.
“If you work in cyber security or are thinking of joining the industry, there has probably never been a better time. As the threats continue to increase, there will be growing demand for cyber security professionals who are focused on cyber crime prevention- and it’s not just about tech. We need people who not only impact how Australian businesses and individuals operate online, but people who also influence the creation of cyber security policies and procedures because it is a threat that is continually evolving. There is no end game in sight because the landscape is continually changing, and we need to adapt to that when responding. Demand for cyber security knowledge is also far outpaced by the number of qualified workers so there is a skills gap too, which opens the door further for opportunities in this field.” - Rachael Falk, CSCRC CEO
