Event 3 of the Partnerships of Innovation series: Equip advanced technology researchers and developers with essential prototyping skills

This panel and workshop event, the third in the "Partnerships of Innovation" series, is designed for researchers, engineers, and developers across the cybersecurity, quantum technology, and space ecosystems. You will be equipped with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively translate complex concepts—whether a novel defence mechanism, a quantum algorithm, or a space-based system—into tangible prototypes and compelling proofs of concept (PoC).

Key Highlights:

Expert Panel Discussion: Hear from leading researchers, engineers, and industry professionals working at the nexus of advanced technology on their insights into successful human centred prototyping and proof-of-concept development.

  • Adam Haskard
  • Janie Busby Grant
  • Raghavendra Gudur
  • Damith Herath

Gain valuable insights into:

  • Selecting the most appropriate prototyping methodologies for novel, high-impact solutions.
  • Developing cost-effective and efficient prototypes for solutions in domains where product failure is not an option.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges in prototyping, such as ethical considerations and security vulnerabilities.
  • Leveraging prototyping to effectively communicate complex research findings to diverse stakeholders, including investors, government agencies, and the public.

Interactive Workshop: Engage in a hands-on workshop focused on the practical skills of innovation translation. Participants will apply design thinking principles and specialised techniques to move their ideas toward real-world deployment by:

  • Translating complex concepts into tangible prototypes using various design thinking tools and techniques.
  • Develop and refine robust proof-of-concept demonstrations for novel solutions,
  • Receive personalised feedback and guidance from experienced professionals on their prototyping strategies and proof-of-concept presentations, ensuring their pitch resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.
