Canberra Cyber Hub recently joined hundreds of legal and tech leaders at Hannover Fairs' Legal Innovation and Tech Fest in Sydney. Our aim was to understand the key challenges and opportunities facing the legal sector in relation to technology and cybersecurity, as well as promote the services of Canberra companies.
Connecting with law firms and other technology providers, our co-exhibitors CorCyber, Modern 42, Redacted Information Security, Securus Consulting Group and Viden, highlighted the critical importance of access management, staff training, and best practices for businesses, including those relying on MSPs.
We were proud to see our Sophie Wade (Modern 42) and Remy Coll (Redacted Information Security) contribute their expertise to the panel discussion, 'Cyber Breached – Are you prepared?' alongside industry leaders from Datcom and NClouldR. The panel offered practical advice on first response, mitigation, and data security, emphasising the proactive steps businesses need to take.
One significant takeaway from the many conversations across the two-day event, was surrounding Cyber Insurance and the need for greater awareness around comprehensive cybersecurity insurance requirements including business security assessments. We were also fascinated by discussions around the increasing integration of AI and the ever-present threat of cyber breaches.
Overall, the Legal Innovation and Tech Fest provided valuable insights into the evolving intersection of law and technology. We look forward to leveraging these learnings to further support our local cyber security businesses in understanding and addressing the needs of diverse sectors.
